t's fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.

How often do you First Attempt in Learning (FAIL)?
When I read failure, I thought of mistakes or errors. My students acknowledge that mistakes are appreciated and become teachable moments. Does failure mean that they do not pass local measures, even though I see progress at students’ pace? Does failure mean a student not writing at grade level, but practicing one of his goals? Does failure mean students don’t knowing the answer, but showing them how to find it? I have seen my students in tears when some tasks may seem to hard for them (I teach 1st grade). Mistakes vs FailureNow, I think about the differences between mistakes vs Failure When Students make mistakes, we acknowledge them and talk about how we can improve or change the way we thought. Still, Students might feel as they have failed when:,
When a school becomes negative place, there is no place for learning. Students might not want to attend class because they feel ashamed or fearful they will fail. At our school there are different programs that tutor students in the morning or after school, we are working on providing tutoring for students in Dual Language Program, but I would like to talk about our school on how we can use achievement plan provided in the book as a suggestion to help students to become independent in their own learning. | Recovery Action Plan in Dual LanguageI would like to share the Academic Recovery Plan with my Dual Language Team at our school. We have talked about how we can support our students in the program when they don’t feel successful. This is a great way for students to get to know other dual language teachers on campus and students can develop strong relationships with them. Based on Chapter 5 on How to Create a Culture of Achievement in your school and classroom, As educators we need to remember:

Commitment
I would like to incorporate this first in my classroom, where students acknowledge when they don’t understand what I am teaching, and that is ok because I haven’t taught the way they learn, so I need to change the way I teach.
They also need to make the effort to be proactive and practice independently to reach their goal.
They also need to make the effort to be proactive and practice independently to reach their goal.
