This Sunday, educators shared strategies and resources on This chat made me realize how my math teaching is not as dynamic or engaging for students as I would want it to be. I do have centers where students work in groups, but with the new curriculum in place I feel like a student. I have noticed that I have taught how to solve problems using multistep, and had some opportunities for collaboration. I would love to see my students teaching each other through videos, but first I must model for them. Some of the next steps for my teaching will be using video to teach my students, as Mr. García mentioned in the chat, and have them model during their ipad center in replace of 'playing' with math apps. This will increase accountability and a form of practice on how to solve problems similar to Mrs. Millers' 1st grade student example in the Storify. Storify gives me the opportunity to really look at what others use in the classroom by organizing the questions and the answers instead of losing all the valuable information because of time. Thank you to my colleague Michael Bruder for Moderating #CVESDChat! Funny that I just met him during #EDCAMPSD even though we co-founded CVESDChat at the beginning of the school year. #CVESDChat Founding Members From Right to Left
