I saw my mom and my grandma at my cousin's piñata, and we decided that during this week I would cross the border for some cooking classes. My mom and I will get together to buy the ingredients to make a chocoflan. This will be a great opportunity for us to spend time together and learn about our baking skills and passions. | My grandma wasn't too excited about making tamales (from scratch), but once we reminded her that we would make tamales for her church and have a fundraiser by selling them, she changed her attitude. This will probably be my next project. So Wednesday or Thursday, I will travel to my mom/grandma's house, have my iphone ready to record, and the willingness to learn a new skill: Baking. P.S. This will be my first time baking a cake. Hope my mom is patient with me. I am scared! Wish me luck -Gisel |

This is great. I love the interactions you provide between you and you abulita. I am thinking I might have to make tamales from scratch since I haven't done it in years and years. So yummy.

This looks amazing! I know flan doesn't have any flour in it. Does this?
